Someone asked me recently how I manage to find the time for all the walking & running I do with 3 kids & a busy business to manage. So it got me thinking & I managed to come up with some reasons at the time & afterwards on how I manage it, my suggestions may help someone.
Runners' frustration as some wait for refunds following cancellation of Stirling Marathon.
Some runners have been left pleading for help after being left to wait for their refund after organisers took the decision to cancel the Stirling marathon. This week will follow a similar pattern to last week with a damp start and turning more settled towards the end of the week and over the weekend. Although it will dry up by midweek it will remain mostly cloudy but hopefully a few sunny intervals will develop on Wednesday.
After a wet start to the week it should dry up as the week progresses with some sunny intervals developing but it will remain cold. By midweek the wet weather, which will be wintry especially on higher ground, will become more showery.
The settled weather looks like hanging around for most of the week and into the weekend with good spells of sunshine expected with daytime temperatures climbing to the mid-teens on most days.
The week ahead after a damp start and a few showers on Wednesday is looking mostly dry with some sunny intervals on most days.
There will be a lot of cloud around during the week with some rain which could be heavy at times during the latter part of Wednesday.
After a wet start to the week we can expect a few dry days but more wet weather will also still feature in the forecast.
At times this week it will once again be wet and windy especially midweek when we could see heavy rain and wind gusts over 40mph which could turn wintry leading to snow and sleet on Thursday.

Once again we are set for another spell of windy weather when wind speeds midweek could reach 50mph and on Wednesday will likely be accompanied by rain which could turn wintry at times.

After the stormy conditions of the weekend it will remain unsettled during the week ahead with a mixture of rain and some sunny intervals while it will also be a windy week with wind gusts of over 40mph expected.

29/1/2022 Storm Malik Winds Approach 60mphOvernight strong winds from Storm Malik has seen Stirling city area record wind gusts touching 60mph.
We are in for another mostly cloudy week in Stirling with temperatures staying above freezing as January ends on a familiar mild note. We are likely to see more rain this week compared to recent weeks with rain expected on Wednesday which may be heavy at times.
Showers on Tuesday should give way to some sunny intervals midweek as high pressure begins to dominate our weather. Cloud will increase again towards the end of the week and at the start of the weekend and although it should remain mostly dry brief rain showers still cannot be ruled out.
The pressure wave from the underwater volcanic eruption in the South Pacific arrived in the Stirling atmosphere on Saturday evening.
The huge eruption in the ocean near Tonga happened in the early hours of Saturday morning (UK Time) resulting in Tsunamis in nearby countries but the effects of the eruption have travelled around the globe. Compared to last week it will be warmer in the coming days with daytime temperatures around 8ºC to 10ºC with the overnight temperature expected to stay above freezing. After a wet start to the week it will remain mostly cloudy with just a few glimpses of sunshine.
On this day 10 years ago Stirling was battered by wind speeds reaching hurricane category 1 force.
Wind speeds peaked at 74.3mph in the city area on Tuesday 03 January 2012. After record breaking temperatures in Stirling over the new year it will be much colder this week as the mild temperatures give way to overnight frosts and daytime highs of between 3ºC to 7ºC. Lows could drop to -4ºC midweek when it will be mostly clear skies with sunny intervals during the day.

More historical weather stats can be found on the Stirling Weather website To add to yesterdays warmest Hogmanay (12.6ºC) since our records began in 2009 the first day of 2022 is also our warmest New Years Day on record in Stirling.
At 11:15am the temperature reached 13.9ºC. Stirling has recorded our warmest Hogmanay temperature since our Stirling Weather records began in 2009 reaching 12.6ºC on Friday evening.
It will remain mild at midnight around 11ºC with showers in the area as we welcome in 2022. |
