"My CCTV camera doesn't have a picture" - nope but the Rats been well fed.
Another fault found and repaired. 27/8/2013 Desking Lights - StirlingThe big switch on of decking lights we recently installed took place on Saturday night. A combination of amenity bricklights, drive over lights and spotlights were installed with either white or green LED lamps.
All lights are 230 volt mains powered with the switching using wireless technology powered by a Wisebox Lighting Control Box. 13/8/2013 Rising Electricity CostsWorried about rising electricity bills as the nights get colder and darker - contact us to discuss energy efficient lights and other solutions.
9/8/2013 The Appearance of a TradesmanFootball colours, designer t-shirts/jumpers plus skip hats - nope sorry thats just not the correct appearance for a professional tradesman - yet every day we see "tradesmen" in vans driving around attending jobs kitted out in clothing like this and in my mind it is just not professional. At Stirling Electrical Services we pride ourselves in our appearance and we hope to give off the correct attitude from our work clothing. We are proud to display our name and logo on our clothing and believe that investing in the appearance of our electricians is beneficial to our brand and in stating that when you use Stirling Electrical Services you are puting your trust in a company that not only takes pride in maintaining our technical standards but also in a company that is willing to invest and take pride in all aspects of our business and our industry. Along with smart livery on our vans and personal identification badges for our electricians we are doing all we can to provide a "Professional and Efficient Service". 9/8/2013 New Extension - StirlingThis week we started 1st fix wiring within a new extension in Stirling. Wiring for lights, sockets, kitchen appliances and audio/visual equipment will be installed over the next week before we come to the exciting part of installing the final equipment.
If you are planning improvements to your home then we can help with sourcing builders, architects and associated tradesmen. This weekend we will begin the wiring within the framework of new decking at a property in Stirling.
Wiring will go in before an external socket and various types of lights are installed within the decking floor, steps and surrounding shrubbery. All lights will be energy efficient with LED lamps similar to the photo of the walkover light supplied by TLC. We will post photos of the ongoing and completed work over the next week or so. If you would like to discuss external lighting ahead of the darker nights please contact us. 8/8/2013 New ElectricianThis week we welcomed another electrician to our team - Colin Ferguson.
We look forward to working with Colin and once some of our other electricians and office staff return from holiday next week then we will be firing on all cylinders and raring to go working throughout Scotland. 6/8/2013 Carbon Monoxide AlarmsIt's pleasing to read of the introduction of a new law within the Scottish Building Regulations that will make installing Carbon Monoxide Alarms mandatory from October. For many years now we have been installing Carbon Monoxide Alarms where required when installing Smoke Alarm systems and the introduction of this law is well overdue but now warmly welcomed. Installing Carbon Monoxide Alarms either at initial install or as a retro-fit to an existing installation is a pretty simple job where both battery operated or mains voltage alarms can be used. We would always recommend mains voltage with battery back up just for that added security of knowing the battery will not be depleted. Many people will think that as these alarms are associated with gas appliances then they should have a Plumber/Gas Engineer install them - that is not the case as obviously battery operated alarms if installed properly at the correct locations within rooms can easily be done by homeowners/landlords - lets hope some businesses don't see this is a money making exercise and rip off the public by taking advantage of this crucial addition to the Scottish Building Regulations. 5/8/2013 Electrical Emergency Call OutOur rescue mission on Monday was in the Scottish Border town of Hawick where one of our electricians attended as a matter of urgency to our clients premises to repair a faulty chiller unit so they didn't loose too much productivity time.
Poorly connected cable within the plug top probably caused this mess. 4/8/2013 Scottish Bank Holiday DatesThis country really needs to sort out it's Bank Holiday dates and have most people/companies singing from the same hymn sheet.
Today, Monday 5th August 2013 is an official Scottish Bank Holiday yet very few people, let alone companies actually know about it. Most of this country will adhere to the late UK summer holiday on 26th August. Now throw into the mix the many local holidays in Scotland where different towns and regions have traditional holiday week's or fortnights throughout the summer where some businesses close then the whole mis-match of holiday dates is muddied even further. A few years ago we lined ourselves up with the Scottish Governments list of bank holidays, a sensible move you would think since we are a Scottish company doing business in Scotland, but we have quickly found that we can be caught out by giving electricians this day off because the majority of our customers are still working. We never make it easy to do business in this country do we. |
