Someone asked me recently how I manage to find the time for all the walking & running I do with 3 kids & a busy business to manage. So it got me thinking & I managed to come up with some reasons at the time & afterwards on how I manage it, my suggestions may help someone.
Runners' frustration as some wait for refunds following cancellation of Stirling Marathon.
Some runners have been left pleading for help after being left to wait for their refund after organisers took the decision to cancel the Stirling marathon. During this health emergency all our thoughts are with the families who are affected or have suffered because of COVID-19. Also to our amazing health workers who are working tirelessly to support those families and protect the health of us all. This article is intended to focus on supporting small business owners but we should not lose sight of those helping care, support and fight to keep the country safe and moving forward.

Well done to our team. 27/10/2019 Don't Be Afraid Of The DarkDon't Be Afraid Of The Dark
Did you know that a staggering 64% of British adults admit that they are still scared of the dark. 36% regularly get the feeling someone or something is in the room with them. And 1 in 5 regularly check under the bed for lurking monsters and close cupboard and wardrobe doors before they get into bed. Those were some of the findings from a 2017 poll conducted by a UK bed company. And with the clocks now turned back and Hallowe'en upon us, travelling to and from work in the dark will soon be a reality. But even with 17 hours of darkness each day in the depths of the Scottish winter is there any reason to still 'Be Afraid Of the Dark'? Let's look at some suggestions to help cope with the dark nights. What Can You Do? To help protect You, your Family and your Property during the long dark winter 21/9/2019 The Apprentice(s)It’s been a double Apprentice celebration week for us at Stirling Electrical Services.
Apprentices have always been at the forefront of our business development and while we do not employ apprentices every year we will always have at least one ongoing apprentice. This week I received the fantastic news that our 4th year apprentice Craig had passed his electrical trade exam and then at the other end of the spectrum we welcomed our new apprentice Shaun to our team. After four hard working years and a two day trade exam I was pleased with Craig’s success and equally delighted to offer him an electrician position as we look forward to many more successful years together. 15/9/2019 Buy With ConfidenceAll of us at Stirling Electrical Services Ltd. would like to wish a happy 20th birthday to the Trading Standards organisation Buy With Confidence. An article in our electrical trade magazine highlighted a new report that's estimates that up to 15,000 extra skilled electricians will be required in the UK over the next 5 years.
New technologies around smart homes, electric vehicles and Wi-Fi were amongst the main new services stated for increasing demand for skilled installers but it was the section on apprenticeships that caught my eye. It was pleasing to read that an electrical apprenticeship is still a highly rated initial career move and that it was still evident for employers to receive a return on investment to employ apprentices. 6/6/2019 Home Renovation CalculatorBeing involved in the construction / services industry I like from time to time to highlight some useful websites, tools and advice that can help with your latest home improvement project. Sainsbury's bank have published a home renovation calculator that tries to give an indication of what different types of home improvement projects may have on the value of your property. * The below link is direct from Sainbury's Bank and I have no affiliation or opinion on the details contained at the below link. Check out the handy Sainbury's Bank Home Renovation Calculator. 26/5/2019 In With The NewSome of our Stirling Electrical team are just back from working in Rothesay installing new external LED lighting.
Out trip to the Isle of Bute was to replace near 20 year old metal halide fittings which had lasted well in the west coast sea air, but the time had come to replace them. So it was 'in with the new' LED lights which will be now be lighting up our customers building. 7/4/2019 LED LightingStirling Electrical Services recently replaced old fluorescent lighting for new LED ceiling panels giving a crisper white light to the treatment rooms and communal areas at Body and Sole Healthcare in Stirling.
The new LED lights offer more efficient running costs and also make for a cleaner finished look. 25/3/2019 Elex Manchester 2019I recently attended the ELEX exhibition in Manchester where all things electrical trade were on show and discussed.
It's important to keep up to date with the latest electrical news, regulations and equipment which is why I travel south every few years. Stirling Electrical Services are a proud member of SELECT and it is through them that myself and our other electricians update our electrical training and qualifications with their excellent training courses, but I always feel with electrical wiring regulations that it's good to have a different perspective and opinion which is why attending the seminars at this event by IET and NAPIT makes it worthwhile visiting. Plus there's also a free Bacon Roll and plenty of pens to be had.
Stirling Electrical Services Ltd. were delighted to be involved in the refurbishment of Gallery Two at The Stirling Smith Art Gallery and Museum, one of Stirling's finest attractions and we wish them success with the new gallery.
