Tick, Tock, Test.
This weekend when you change your clocks please test your smoke alarms as well - oh and make sure there are batteries in them. A working smoke alarm can buy you and your family the valuable time you need to get out of a house fire and call 999. 18/10/2013 "Lights, Heating, Action"We are gearing ourselves up for a busy winter season here at Stirling Electrical Services....it's not as if we have not been busy over the warmer and lighter months but the traditional lighting and heating season is now upon us so it's time to restock, recharge and get ourselves ready for the busy months ahead.
Two new members have joined our team over the past months (one office member and one engineer) and they have both settled in well and have been a pleasing boost to our team. We have come through a tough past 18 months regarding personnel and we are now looking forward to getting back up to full steam and making sure we keep to our promise of "Professional Efficient Service from enquiry to job completion". Whether it be electrical advice, quotations or to book a job contact us and we are here to help you out. 17/10/2013 New Audio Visual ScreensWe recently completed the installation of two new audio visual display screens as well as the replacement of an existing screen.
Using a combination of VGA, Cat6 and HDMI cabling including convertors we were able to a provide the facility for our client to showcase internal information via the screens. 16/10/2013 "No Income Tax, No VAT"In the words of the theme from the TV series Only Fools and Horses:-
"No income tax, no V.A.T., No money back, no guarantee, Black or white, rich or poor, We'll cut prices at a stroke......" Well here's a novel idea I've mentioned before, before, before and now I'm mentioning again - If you trade in any line of business then you must charge VAT - lets do away with this current nonsense £79,000 limit before businesses must register for VAT which just disadvantages most progressive businesses looking to expand and employ people, especially the ones who do charge VAT and trade within the domestic market as domestic customers usually can't claim VAT back on purchases and services and it plays straight into the cash in hand brigade who are desperate to stay below the limit and will do all they can to do so and deceive HMRC. HMRC must also do more, they are quick to clamp down on legitimate businesses they know they have full details for and have good accountancy records as they can easily check and spot the odd mistake, but they just can't be bothered or don't have the resources to go after the ones they should. Customers must also play their part as well as far too many these days are more than happy to shop around until they get someone who is happy to cut corners in tax and VAT and oh believe us most of them will also cut corners on safety and quality as well. 15/10/2013 Shower SwitchAnother example of how dangerous electricity can be and the fine line between this smouldering shower ceiling switch eventually igniting building materials with possible disastrous results.
