In addition to the existing King Street, Queen Street and Princess Street it appears the City of Stirling could soon have a street named Queen Elizabeth Road.
A motion(see image below) from two Conservative Stirling Councillors will be put forward to Stirling Council containing a number of proposals to celebrate Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth's 90th Birthday which is in April 2016. The main proposal is to rename Corn Exchange Road, where Stirling Council Municipal Buildings are based, to Queen Elizabeth Road as well as to update maps and signage for the new street name. A portrait of the Queen at the Labour and Conservative run Stirling Council headquarters is also proposed. The final proposal is to send heartfelt best wishes from the Council and the people of Stirling to the Queen for her 90th Birthday. Funds from the council's civic budget will possibly be used for these proposals. These proposals will certainly get the 'town talking' especially in the current climate of upcoming budget cuts and job losses at the council. I have no great affection for the Queen or the royals but in the same tone I don't wish them any ill and I appreciate the Queens purpose and the longevity of her role as Queen Elizabeth of Scotland. So what's peoples thoughts, should the final proposal of a simple heartfelt birthday message from the City be enough or is spending the time and money renaming a street a more fitting recognition. Perhaps the chewing gum filled pavements of Corn Exchange Road will now be part of Clean for the Queen ;-) 14/2/2016 NSI AccreditationI am absolutely thrilled to announce that after only three months of our new 'Stirling Alarms' security service we have gained accreditation with the National Security Inspectorate (NSI).
In November 2015 Stirling Electrical Services security system services were rebranded as Stirling Alarms and we have now been awarded approval in the Design, Installation and Maintenance of Electronic Security Systems including Access Control, CCTV Systems and Intruder Alarms by the National Security Inspectorate (NSI) who are the leading approvals and certification body that inspects UK companies providing home security, business security and fire safety services. With all the security advice on the internet, it can be bewildering knowing who to trust for sound advice and service. Choosing 'NSI Approved Systems Silver' Stirling Alarms gives you peace of mind that you are dealing with a reputable contractor who works to NSI’s stringent standards and also to the highest recognised industry standards as demanded by the Police, Fire & Rescue Services and insurance industry. We are inspected by an approved inspector of the NSI annually to ensure all office procedures, maintenance & installations are being carried out to the highest standards & comply with regulation. NSI accreditation is only awarded to a company after rigorous checks have been conducted. These companies must display technical expertise and business competence. The Systems Silver scheme is accredited by the United Kingdom Accreditation Service (UKAS) which is recognised by the Government, the Police, Fire & Rescue Services and the insurance industry. Since launching in November 2015 our Security Alarm installation, repair and maintenance services have proved popular with homes and businesses throughout Central Scotland and our new NSI accreditation allows us to offer an increased range of services including monitored security alarm systems with call centre and police response. We have put together a hard working, dedicated and trustworthy team at Stirling Alarms and this NSI accreditation is testament to their superb efforts over the past three months since our launch. More details of how NSI approved Stirling Alarms can help protect your premises can be found on our security service website. 4/2/2016 #WorldCancerDay4/2/2016 Building RelationshipsReceived news today that our tender has been successful with a local housing association which will see us continue our long standing working relationship with them for the next three years.
