Once again we are set for another spell of windy weather when wind speeds midweek could reach 50mph and on Wednesday will likely be accompanied by rain which could turn wintry at times.

It will remain unsettled to start the week with some wintry showers but conditions are set to settle for a time in the latter half of the week and with a clearer sky the temperature will drop with overnight frosts developing.
After the stormy conditions of the weekend it will remain unsettled during the week ahead with a mixture of rain and some sunny intervals while it will also be a windy week with wind gusts of over 40mph expected.

We are in for another mostly cloudy week in Stirling with temperatures staying above freezing as January ends on a familiar mild note. We are likely to see more rain this week compared to recent weeks with rain expected on Wednesday which may be heavy at times.
Showers on Tuesday should give way to some sunny intervals midweek as high pressure begins to dominate our weather. Cloud will increase again towards the end of the week and at the start of the weekend and although it should remain mostly dry brief rain showers still cannot be ruled out.
The pressure wave from the underwater volcanic eruption in the South Pacific arrived in the Stirling atmosphere on Saturday evening.
The huge eruption in the ocean near Tonga happened in the early hours of Saturday morning (UK Time) resulting in Tsunamis in nearby countries but the effects of the eruption have travelled around the globe.
Compared to last week it will be warmer in the coming days with daytime temperatures around 8ºC to 10ºC with the overnight temperature expected to stay above freezing. After a wet start to the week it will remain mostly cloudy with just a few glimpses of sunshine.
